GRIA Golf

Model:  Nova Irons

Material/Mfg:  Investment Cast 431 Stainless Steel

Introduction:  2012

The Golf Research Institute of America has been studying swing planes for the past decade.  Their research from 1-Iron Golf has shown improvements in swing consistency by producing irons in a single length throughout the set.

I had befriended the company's owner, Dave Lake, back in 1990 when we were introduced to one another by a mutual friend.  Being a CPA I never would have imagined us working on an iron design together twenty years later.

Dave desired a more game improvement head than what he offered in his 1-Iron single length set.  An "almost hybrid" was the design target -  an iron with a very deep cavity and the extremely wide sole you would find on a hybrid wood.

The combination of the ultra-forgiving head (very high moment of inertia) and single length ultra-light graphite shafts makes this set a no-brainer for anyone adjusting to swing length inconsistencies.
